Projects & Research Collaboration

Part of the Innovation Ecosystem — EU, National, and Academic Projects

We actively participate in European and national programs and build a network of research and industrial partners. Each project brings a specific advance in technology, data, or market application.

HIVE: Standard for the Future of Cities

In the HIVE project, we aren't just creating another farm. We are creating a 'Farm Kit' — a standardized solution that can be deployed in any city as easily as an ATM. Our goal is for urban cultivation to become auditable infrastructure with clear ESG impact.

Running Projects

Horizon Europe — Up2Circ (GA 101091367)

CIRCU-POT

Feasibility study for new circular and food-safe materials for reusable cultivation cups in aeroponic systems. Activities: biomaterials, prototyping, CAD design, LCA, testing 100+ cycles, circular business model, certification. Coordinator TNO (NL), Czech partner JIC. Duration 6 months.

VŠB-TUO, FS — Ing. Jiří Struž, Ph.D.

Innovation Voucher OP TAK

FEM calculations, construction design, mist and heat flow simulations, modal analysis, 3D documentation of the new MicrogreensFarm generation. Company pays 30% of costs, rest from subsidy. Completion Jan 2026.

Digital Europe / MPO ČR (AI TEF1.5.02.2)

TEF — AI Manufacturing

AI Manufacturing Testing and Experimentation Network for European Industries 2 — testing and experimentation network for industrial AI. Partners: Hercík, Struž, Mahdal (VŠB-TUO). MoraviaLab pays only VAT, researchers' hours covered by project. Contract signed Jan 2026.

Projects in Evaluation

I3 Strand 1 (I3-2025-INV1)

HIVE — Connected Urban Farm Systems

Standardized network of urban CEA farms across Europe. Unification of hardware, data, and SOP to make the farm a 'farm kit' — quickly deployable, auditable, and investable. Consortium 13+ partners: GAIA (ES), CARSA (ES), DC Venturing (BE), PLNT.be (BE), Urban Crop Solutions (BE), EOS Sciences (BE), Nursh (BE), Efika Sciences, Technical University of Crete (GR), MAI Systems (CZ), MoraviaLab (CZ), University of Ostrava, VŠB-TUO. MoraviaLab role: delivery of modular HIVE units for Czech pilots, sensor and ESG Farm Cloud integration, testing in real operations (Canteens, schools, hospitals). 36 months, multi-regional. Submitted 11/2025.
